Celebrating Sisterhood, Strength, and Survivorship-Women’s History Month

Celebrating Sisterhood, Strength, and Survivorship

Spring is in the air, and with just a week and a half left in Women’s History Month, my heart is full. This season always invites me to pause, reflect, and honor the women whose stories shape our world — but this weekend, I had the privilege of experiencing that celebration in a deeply personal way.

I spent the day with my sister and had the honor of occupying sacred space with fellow breast cancer survivors and supporters at this year’s annual LIFT Brunch — a powerful gathering birthed from the heart and testimony of Dr. Michele Clark. What she has built is more than an event. It is a lifeline. A celebration of resilience. A safe place for women to rise together, breathe together, and remember that healing is not a solitary journey.

This year’s brunch carried an extra layer of inspiration with Les Brown as the keynote speaker. His words filled the room with wisdom, purpose, and possibility. You could feel the atmosphere shift — as if every woman present was reminded that her story still has chapters left to write.

The Power of Being in the Room

If you were there, you couldn’t help but feel empowered. The atmosphere carried joy, strength, and a quiet kind of hope that only women who have walked through fire can radiate. Standing among so many seasoned survivors reminded me that healing is not just physical — it’s communal. It’s spiritual. It’s legacy.

As a 2‑year survivor, I felt my heart swell with gratitude. God has carried me through seasons I didn’t think I’d survive, and yet here I stand — stronger, clearer, and more determined to live fully. Being surrounded by women who have walked this journey longer than I have reminded me that healing is a lifelong testimony. Their presence whispered, “Keep going. There is still so much life ahead.”

A Month to Honor the Women Who Sharpen Us

Women’s History Month is about honoring the women who paved the way — but it’s also about honoring the women who walk beside us. The ones who sharpen us, strengthen us, and remind us that we are not alone.

During Women’s History Month, I celebrate the sisterhood of survivorship — a sisterhood I am humbled and honored to be part of.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)

Reflection Question

We all have the ability to contribute to history. What part of your journey might God be trying to use to help you sharpen another woman?

Prayer

Father God, thank You for giving each of us a story. Help us remember that our journeys, though unique, are meant to encourage one another and ultimately bring You glory. Strengthen us to share boldly, love deeply, and sharpen the women around us with grace and compassion.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
