Low-Hanging Fruit
A win is a win. Right?
Life feels great when we set out to do something and our time and resources come together. These are the situations we can plan and execute in our sleep—and still pull off a big win. You know, the low-hanging fruit.
Then there are other seasons when we’re called to produce fruit, and our starting point is only a seed. These assignments might require a different level of research, creativity, sacrifice, and obedience. It’s important that we don’t confuse “hard” or “challenging” with a “not meant to be” attitude. God might just be calling us to go deeper.
I’m recalling a recent conversation I had with a college freshman. The student expressed the contrast between earning an ‘A’ in college versus their experience of earning and maintaining straight A’s in high school. I explained that the A’s earned in high school were the seeds—seeds of hope, confidence, and discipline—planted for this current season.
Question:
Is God calling you to go deeper? In what way?
Let’s thank God for the low-hanging fruit, and ask Him for the wisdom, guidance, and obedience to go deeper.
Power Verse
Galatians 6:9 NLT
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
